Our accessories are made out of high-quality leather, full grain, hair-on, and embossed leather. Use only cleaning products designed specifically for leather. Always test cleaning products in an inconspicuous area and allow to dry fully before applying to entire product. As always, try to avoid exposure to moisture. Our best recommendation to care for your handbag is to take it to your trusted shoemaker or professional leather cleaner. See below for our suggestions to care for your bag.
About Our Leather
We use a range of leathers to craft our products, including full grain leathers that have been aniline-dyed. Full grain leathers come from the best quality hide or skin and no sanding processes are applied to its surface, offering a natural look. The presence of natural markings such as brands, healed scratches and scars are considered the signature of fine leather. Soluble aniline dyes allow the leather to keep their grain characteristics from the animal of which it was taken, and comprise the top 5% of full grain leather available.
Our signature bow ties, handbags and suspenders are made from a “naked” leather. This means that the hide is untreated and requires proper care. Leather darkens over time, depending on frequency of wear and exposure to sunlight. We recommend using a leather cream (we like Leather CPR) to maintain the leather’s vivacity.
Our Hair-On accessories are made with 100% authentic cow hair. Hair-on products are naturally prone to thinning or damage caused by friction from wear. This is neither a manufacturer defect nor an issue exclusive to our brand, but simply the nature of consistent wearing of a hair-on handbag. Unfortunately, we are unable to repair or replace hair-on items. Please handle with care.
Embossed products are naturally prone to damage caused by friction from wear. This is neither a manufacturer defect nor an issue exclusive to our brand, but simply the nature of consistent wearing of a embossed handbag. Unfortunately, we are unable to repair or replace these items. Please handle with care.
The best storage is to let the suspenders hang freely. The packaging may have created some creases or wrinkles within the straps. If they have not erased themselves from hanging, you can safely iron leather. See ironing instructions below.
Set the iron to the coolest setting. Cover the wrinkled section of the suspenders with a cotton cloth or heavy brown paper. Iron the straps gently, always moving the iron over the paper or cloth. Do not let the iron rest in one place, because overheating the leather will damage it.
